My wife and I were recently in Charleston for five days spanning the first weekend of Spoleto. We had made reservations at Muse for our first evening in town and were early so were invited to sit at the bar. By the time our table was ready, we didn't want to leave the bar and requested that we eat our meal with Matt and several locals. We had a wonderful time eating wonderful food, drinking very good wine, and finding out about Charleston from people who know it.
On our last day in town, we had eaten a late lunch and went to a 7:00 PM concert which finished about 9:00. Since we were a bit hungry at that point, we strolled over to Society Street to see if Matt had room at the bar, which he did. He poured us an interesting Spanish red and we ordered the cheese plate for our final evening meal in Charleston.
We are from New Orleans and do not give out restaurant praise lightly. However, if we lived in Charleston, Muse would be a regular spot for us. We are touting it to friends already. Thanks for a great time. We will be back.

My sister's bridal shower was held at MUSE this weekend and I couldn't have been more pleased. The staff was exceptionally accommodating, the restaurant itself is exquisite, and location of the restaurant in Charleston is prime.
I am from out of town and was daunted by the idea of planning a shower from 250 miles away, but Beth Anne made it very easy. I gave her a general idea of what we wanted and how many guests to expect, and she created the most beautiful party. When we got there, everything was completely taken care of, and the party went seamlessly. It couldn't have been easier -- or more beautiful.
This restaurant is a one-of-a-kind gem that emanates the charm and sophistication of Charleston perfectly. I can't wait to go back.
